1.Introduction to degradable materials

At present, commercial biodegradable plastics include polylactic acid (PLA), polyhydroxyfatty acid ester (PHA), polybutanediol succinate (PBS), polybutanediol succinate (PBSA) and polyterephthalate succinate (PBAT), among which PLA is the most widely used and PBAT has the most prominent application prospect.


1.1.polylactic acid

Polylactic acid is formed by lactic acid monomer by the dehydration condensation polymer, is a kind of typical composite completely biodegradable material, due to its biological safety of reliable, biodegradable, environmental friendliness, good mechanical properties and the advantages of easy processing and forming, in biomedical polymer, textile industry, agricultural film and packaging industry has a broad application prospect.


1.2.Polyadipic acid, terephthalic acid/butanediol ester copolymerPBAT

PBAT is a copolymer of polyadipic acid, terephthalic acid/butanediol ester, which has good biodegradability, and features of polybutylene glycol adipate (PBA) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). It has good ductility, fracture elongation, heat resistance and impact resistance as well as excellent biodegradability.It is one of the most active biodegradable materials in biodegradable plastics research and market application.The end product is usually modified by the blending of PLA and PBAT resin.PBAT's main markets are plastic packaging film, agricultural film, disposable plastic bags and disposable plastic tableware.


1.3. Polybutanediol succinate (PBS)

Compared with other biodegradable plastics, PBS has excellent mechanical properties, close to PP and ABS plastics.Good heat resistance, thermal deformation temperature close to 100, modified temperature can be more than 100, can be used to prepare cold and hot drink packaging and meal boxes, to overcome other biodegradable plastics low heat resistance temperature shortcomings;The processing performance is very good, can be in the existing plastic processing general equipment for all kinds of molding processing, is the degradable plastic processing performance is the best, at the same time can be mixed with a large amount of calcium carbonate, starch and other fillers, the products at a low price.
