Vitamins
Vitamin is a class of trace organic substances which must be obtained from food to maintain normal physiological functions of the people and animals, it plays a great role in human growth and metabolism. Vitamin is little in human body, but indispensable. The chemical structure and properties of various vitamins are different, but they have the following characteristic in common:
- Vitamin is present in food in the form of provitamin;
- Vitamin is not component which constitutes the body's tissues and cells, it also does not produce energy, its main function is to participate in the regulation of metabolism;
- Most of the vitamins can’t be synthesized or insufficient synthesized by the body, so they can not meet the needs of the body and must always be obtained through food;
Human body requires vitamin little, the daily requirement always can be calculated in milligrams (mg) or micrograms (μg), but once lacked it will lead to a corresponding vitamin deficiency and then damage the human health;
