    Neroli oil is extracted from the flowers of a bitter orange plant. Like lavender, this essential oil is also one of the most popular essential oils. Rutaceae family and is also known as orange flower and Neroli bigarade.


    It is also known as 'orange blossom' and it takes about 1000 lbs. of orange blossoms to make 1 lb. of Neroli oil. The name is said to have originated from the Italian princess, Anne-Marie de la Tremoille (Countess of Nerola) who used the oil as a perfume and to scent her bathwater and gloves. It is still an ingredient for making traditional smelling eau-de-cologne.


    The main chemical constituents of neroli l oil  are α-pinene, Camphene, β-pinene, α-terpene, orange blossom, orange blossom alcohol acetate, acacia alcohol, acid ester and indole.

    It is one of the most widely used floral oils in perfumery.Like all essential oils neroli is irritating, sensitizingand a known allergen because of the high content of aromatic Terpenes such as linalool, limolene, farnesol, geraniol and citral. It blends well with any citrus oil, various floral absolutes, and most of the synthetic components available on the market. Neroli oil is a classic element in fragrance design and one of the most commonly used in the industry.
