    Product Introduction:

Bifida, known as Bifidobacterium, is a genus of anaerobic, Gram-positive bacilli. Within the realm of skincare products, the term "bifida" primarily refers to bifidobacterium fermentation products, particularly the lysate. These products are the culmination of culturing, fermentation, inactivation, and subsequent breakdown of bifidobacteria, yielding a rich blend of bioactive compounds.

The fermented lysate encapsulates an array of beneficial components such as organic acids (lactic, citric, and succinic acids, among others), vitamins (B-complex vitamins including B1, B2, B5, B6, B9, and B12), bacteriocins (predominantly water-soluble polypeptides), polysaccharides, proteins, and amino acids, all of which are readily absorbed and harnessed by human skin.

The 2021 iteration of the "Catalogue of Names of Used Cosmetic Raw Materials" recognizes three key ingredients derived from bifidobacteria:

    BIFIDA FERMENT FILTRATE

    BIFIDA FERMENT LYSATE

    BIFIDA FERMENT EXTRACT

Among these, the Bifida Ferment Filtrate and the Bifida Ferment Lysate are more prevalent in the cosmetics industry.

    Applications

    Antioxidation

Oxidative stress, triggered by reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated from UV exposure and aging, is a pivotal mechanism underlying skin alterations. By neutralizing ROS, antioxidants mitigate or alleviate the biological consequences of UV irradiation. Incorporating varying concentrations of Bifida Ferment Lysate into formulations has been found to decrease intracellular ROS levels to varying degrees, demonstrating its efficacy in inhibiting UVA-induced oxidative damage at concentrations of 10%, 5%, and 2%, thereby exerting a potent antioxidant effect.

    Repair the barrier:

Keratinocytes in the epidermis undergo continuous differentiation, migrating into the stratum corneum to replace shed older cells, facilitating the renewal of this outermost layer and preserving skin barrier integrity. Research indicates that Bifida Ferment extracts enhance keratinocyte differentiation, suggesting a potential role in thickening the stratum corneum, addressing skin thinness, or accelerating wound healing.

    Sensitivity Relief:

A comprehensive study evaluated the benefits of Bifida ferment lysate on sensitive skin. Results revealed that this lysate significantly alleviates superficial dermal capillary dilation and skin edema induced by neuropeptide substance P, while inhibiting the release of the inflammatory cytokine TNF-α.

Furthermore, Bifida ferment lysate effectively mitigates capsaicin-induced skin irritation, decreases skin sensitivity, reduces transepidermal water loss, and overall enhances skin barrier function.

    Scalp Nourishment and Repair:

Research has shown that incorporating 0.01%, 0.05%, and 1% of Bifida-based scalp essence into formulations enhances scalp hydration and significantly improves dandruff issues. Consumers report noticeable improvements in scalp health, underscoring the product's efficacy in addressing scalp concerns.
