Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADP+) is a very important nucleotide coenzyme. It is a phosphorylated derivative of the 2'- position of the ribose ring linked to adenine in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (nad+), and participates in a variety of anabolic reactions, such as the synthesis of lipids, fatty acids and nucleosides. In these reactions, the reduced form of nadp+ NADPH is required as reducing agent and negative hydrogen donor.
