Differences and Advantages Between IgY and IgG
 
 
IgY shares similarities with mammalian IgG. The molecular weight of normal chicken IgY is approximately 180KDa, consisting of two light chains (2L) and two heavy chains (2H), with molecular weights of 60-70KDa and 22-30KDa, respectively. Its isoelectric point is around 5.2. In comparison to general mammalian IgG, IgY demonstrates superior heat resistance, acid resistance, ionic strength resistance, and some resistance to enzyme degradation.
 
 
Application of IgY Products in In Vitro Diagnostic Projects
IgY serves as an ideal tool for immunological experimental detection. It enables the preparation of specific antibodies against particular pathogenic organisms for pathogen isolation and identification. Notably, IgY does not bind to rheumatoid factor, and it avoids interaction with protein A, protein G, and mammalian FC. It binds to the body and complement without significant cross-reactivity with IgG. Consequently, IgY is recommended for the specific determination of circulating immune complexes, rheumatoid factors, complement, etc., minimizing the occurrence of false positives.
 
The quality of the C-Line in POCT detection reagents is of utmost importance. It facilitates timely, accurate, and intuitive assessments of the effectiveness of detection reagent products, batch-to-batch consistency and stability, and the precision of sample quantification. Common quality control systems (labeled-coated) in POCT detection reagents include rabbit IgG-goat anti-rabbit IgG, chicken IgY-rabbit/goat anti-chicken IgY, and independent quality control DNP-goat anti-DNP, among others.

 4 Easy Mass Production and Control: Chicken IgY mass production is easily controllable, and stable, non-specific antigen-binding antibodies can be reliably obtained from Specific Pathogen-Free (SPF) eggs.
 5 Chicken IgY Cross-Reactivity: The likelihood of serological cross-reaction with mammalian immunoglobulins is low due to the substantial germline distance between the two.
 6 Lower Background with IgY Antibodies: IgY-Fc contains two sugar side chains, in contrast to IgG-Fc, which contains one sugar side chain. The distinct amino acid compositions contribute to functional differences. IgY does not bind to human rheumatoid factor, protein A, or protein G. Additionally, it does not activate the mammalian complement system, thereby preventing false-negative or false-positive results during immune detection.
 
7 Acid Resistance and Stability: IgY is acid-resistant, remaining active at pasteurization temperatures and maintaining stability at pH levels below 3.
 
8 Convenient Storage and Transportation: IgY antibodies offer more stable, convenient, and reliable storage and transportation compared to antibodies extracted from mammals.
