Time:2024-01-25 Hits:266

Sodium Polyanethole Sulfonate (SPS, CAS 55963-78-5) is a white to light yellow crystal or powder. SPS can neutralize trace amounts of antibiotics in the blood and improve the positive rate of blood culture. It is used in anaerobic bottles or bidirectional culture bottles in blood culture.

Seebio Biotech can provide sodium polyanetole sulfonate with stable quality and sufficient inventory. For more product details, please contact us: service@seebio.cn or Phone: +86 21 58183719 or Wechat: +86 158 0195 7578.

Principle of action of sodium polyanetole sulfonate (SPS)
Sodium polyanethole sulfonate (SPS) exerts various biological effects. It can neutralize lysozyme, inhibit phagocytosis, deactivate specific aminoglycoside antibiotics, impede certain complement cascades, and foster more robust microbial growth. Due to these enrichment properties, SPS can enhance positive detection rates in cultures and is thus employed for enrichment cultivation. Furthermore, sodium polyanethole sulfonate exhibits anticoagulant activity. Its anticoagulation mechanism involves enhancing the activity of antithrombin III (AT III) and inhibiting the serine proteases thrombin and clotting factor Xa, essential components in the blood clotting process.
